UF International Research Experience for Students

Global conservation efforts for biodiversity and ecosystem functioning must embrace agricultural landscapes, but there is a limited understanding of how agricultural landscapes alter biodiversity and ecosystem services. One major hypothesis for balancing agricultural production with biodiversity and ecosystem functioning is the habitat heterogeneity hypothesis. We assembled a team of leading Swazi and American scientists to work with students to understand the role of heterogeneity on biodiversity and ecosystem functioning.
